Chennai, March 23 — The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) kicked off their IPL 2025 campaign with a nail-biting four-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, CSK’s spin-heavy attack dominated the proceedings. Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad starred with a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for 18 runs, derailing MI’s middle order. The visitors posted a below-par 155/9 in 20 overs, despite a resilient 42-run stand between Suryakumar Yadav (38 off 29) and Tilak Varma (33 off 27).
